Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F
Step 2: In a large saucepan heat the butter, then add in onions. Cook until softened, 8 minutes.
Step 3: Stir in flour until combined.
Step 4: Add wine, milk, garlic powder and parsley, bring to a boil. Simmer until thick, stirring constantly.
Step 5: Stir in cream cheese until smooth.
Step 6: Mix in cooked bacon.
Step 7: Season mixture with salt, pepper and nutmeg (as much salt and pepper as you like).
Step 8: Add in sliced potatoes and let them cook for about 8 minutes, then reduce heat to low, let simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 9: Transfer everything in a large casserole dish.
Step 10: Top with shredded cheese.
Step 11: Bake for 30-35 minutes (check if potatoes are fork-tender but not to soft, the cooking time will vary, it will depend on how thick that you sliced the potatoes).
