Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Bread loaf (1 round un-sliced and not a sweet bread)
  • 8 ounces swiss cheese (cut into small cubes)
  • 1 cup mushrooms, white (or button mushrooms, sliced)
  • BUTTER MIX
  • 1/4 cup butter, unsalted (softened)
  • 2 garlic cloves, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Bread ... Cut the top of the bread, using a serrated knife, diagonally into 1" intervals, about 1-1 1/2" deep. Then, cut in the opposite direction to create a diamond or cross hatch pattern.

  • Step 2: Cheese and Mushrooms ... Stuff the cheese cubes and mushrooms slices in between the cuts of the bread. Make sure to stuff them in and much as you can.

  • Step 3: Sauce ... Add the butter, shallot, garlic, mustard, lemon juice, poppy seeds, seasoning salt, and pepper, to a small bowl or measuring cup; and, microwave at medium heat for 30 seconds intervals, until melted.

  • Step 4: Then, pour the mixture over the bread in all the cuts, where the mushrooms and cheese are; and make sure to brush some on top of the bread as well.

  • Step 5: Bake ... Wrap the loaf in foil, and bake at 350 degrees, middle shelf, for approximately 35-40 minutes. The bread should slightly crisp on the outside, and, the filling - completely melted.

  • Step 6: Serve and ENJOY! ... As I said, this is rich; so, I like to serve this with a nice salad, and maybe a grilled steak or roast chicken. Keep it simple! It is absolutely - delicious and addictive!
