Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 teaspoons coriander, ground
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons tumeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon fenugreek, ground
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard powder
  • 3 cardamon pods cracked
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoon oil (olive oil)
  • 1 large sweet onion, sliced
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, finely minced
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 teaspoons gingerroot, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can (398 ml) tomatoes (diced)
  • 3 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix together: coriander, cinnamon, tumeric, cumin, fengreek, mustard, cardamon and paprika, set aside.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile to a large skillet add oil , heat over medium high heat saute the onion, garlic, ginger and jalapenos.

  • Step 3: Fry for a couple of minutes until the onion is soft and the mixture is aromatic.

  • Step 4: Add all the ingredients together and simmer over medium heat for approx 30 minutes.
