Step 1: Sauce ... Add all the ingredients to a small bowl or measuring cup and mix well.
Step 2: Casserole ... Spray a casserole dish with a nonstick spray and add the tater tots and red peppers; pour the sauce over the top.
Step 3: Topping ... Finish with the cheese and french fried onions.
Step 4: Bake ... In a preheated 350 degree oven; bake for 40 minutes on the medium shelf, uncovered. until golden brown and bubbly.
Step 5: Serve and ENJOY! ... A perfect side dish to go with any main course. And, as mentioned, for a complete main dish, add cooked diced ham or chicken. I can't say that it is exactly healthy; but, it sure is tasty.
