Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: In a medium size bowl mix together flour,cornstarch, and baking soda, set aside.
Step 3: In a large bowl, mix together butter and sugars until creamy.
Step 4: Add egg and vanilla, blending well.
Step 5: Add flour mixture a little at a until well blended ( batter will be slightly thick ).
Step 6: Then add chips and almonds, mixing well.
Step 7: Drop by Tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet, and bake for 8 to 12 minutes( depending on your oven) until golden brown around the edges.
Step 8: Let cool on cookie sheet for 3 minutes, then remove and let finish cooling on wire cooling rack.
