Step 1: Pre- cook your potatoes and carrots until they are just tender
Step 2: Put your brats in a skillet, prick them a few time, pour in the beer and simmer until the beer has evaporated.
Step 3: While you are cooking the brats enjoy the left over beer
Step 4: Finish browning the brats, place them in an oven proof dish large enough to accomodate all the ingredients
Step 5: Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the skillet, medium heat, saute the onions until golden.
Step 6: Add kraut, chili flakes, brown sugar, paprika, season with salt and pepper. Mix well scrapping the brown bits from the bottom of the skillet
Step 7: Your kraut mixture should now be golden in colour
Step 8: Add your potatoes and carrots to the brats, cover with the kraut mixture, seal with foil
Step 9: Bake in 350 oven for 40 minutes Uncover and serve
