Step 1: Prepare and chunk carrots into pot, add water to cover
Step 2: Over medium heat bring carrots to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minute or until done, taking care not to over cook
Step 3: Drain, add butter, sugar, salt, and nutmeg (optional) Return to burner to heat, stirring constantly until carrots are glazed.
