Step 1: Beat the cheese in an electric mixer until just smooth. Add the sour cream, lemon juice, dill, horseradish and pepper. Mix until totally combined. Add the smoked salmon and mix well. Add in salt if you like. Chill 2 hours before you serve it.
Step 2: Serve with crackers or crostini.
