Step 1: Mix the flour, salt, cayenne and pepper in a bowl.
Step 2: Lightly whip the egg in a separate bowl.
Step 3: Add the milk to the egg.
Step 4: Heat the oil (about 2 inches) to 325.
Step 5: Dip the pickle slices first into the flour, then the egg mixture, and finally back into the flour.
Step 6: Carefully place the pickles into the hot oil. Do not overcrowd.
Step 7: Fry until golden brown (about 8 minutes), turning once.
Step 8: Drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
