Step 1: Preheat broiler.
Step 2: Broil wings about 5 minutes per side.
Step 3: Transfer to crock-pot.
Step 4: Combine onion, soy sauce, brown sugar, sherry, ginger and garlic in large bowl.
Step 5: Add to crock-pot; stir to blend well.
Step 6: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
Step 7: Optional: You can broil the wings if you like a crispy skin on them but it is not necessary, it doesn't change how they taste.
Step 8: Sprinkle with chives or green onion before serving.
