Step 1: Combine ground meat, onions, garlic, carrot, spices, water and Worcestershire sauce in a large skillet or pot and bring to a boil.
Step 2: Reduce heat and cook uncovered for 20 minutes, or long enough to remove pink from meat. Mixture should be moist, not watery. If there is too much liquid, drain a bit out.
Step 3: Mix in the potatoes and adjust the seasoning.
Step 4: Cool.
Step 5: Fill crust, cover with top crust and seal edges. Cut vent holes.
Step 6: Combine egg and water and brush over pastry crust.
Step 7: Bake at 425 for 10 minutes, reduce heat to 350 and bake 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
