Step 1: In a Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent.
Step 2: Season lightly and add spices.
Step 3: Stir in the tomato juice, broth, and barbecue sauce.
Step 4: Add the green beans and canned beans, season to taste.
Step 5: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.
Step 6: Cook 2 hours, or until the green beans are tender and the flavors have blended.
Step 7: Stir occasionally to prevent the beans from sticking, adding water as needed.
