Ingredients
- 6 ounces white bread, toasted
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3/4 pound cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
How to Make

Step 1: Butter casserole heavily.

Step 2: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 3: Toast and butter bread.

Step 4: Put 2 slices toast in casserole and sprinkle with 1/2 the cheese.

Step 5: Season lightly.

Step 6: Beat the eggs and milk together, season lightly.

Step 7: Pour 1/2 the egg mixture over toast and repeat.
