Ingredients
- 2 pounds potatoes (6)
- 6 cups water boiling
- 1 teaspoons salt
- Sauce
- 1/4 cup butter
- 12 ounces sour cream
- 4 teaspoons onions, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 8 ounces American cheese, shredded
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
- Topping
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
How to Make

Step 1: Cook potatoes in jacket in heavily salted boiling water until done.

Step 2: Drain, peel and grate.

Step 3: Season lightly.

Step 4: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 5: Sauce: Melt butter with onions, season lightly.

Step 6: Add sour cream and cheese and melt.

Step 7: Add potatoes.

Step 8: Pour into a heavily buttered (2 tablespoons butter) 9x13 casserole.

Step 9: Dot with 2 teaspoons butter.

Step 10: Sprinkle on paprika.

Step 11: Bake 30 minutes in oven until lightly browned and hot and bubbly.
