Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F.
Step 2: Grease and flour a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan and spray with baking spray.
Step 3: Set aside.
Step 4: In a large bowl sift together dry ingredients.
Step 5: Add raisins.
Step 6: Stir with a wire whisk.
Step 7: Set bowl aside.
Step 8: In a medium bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together.
Step 9: Add the oil.
Step 10: Beat well.
Step 11: Pour the egg, sugar and oil mixture into the dry ingredients.
Step 12: Add the buttermilk and stir to combine.
Step 13: Stir only until no visible flour remains, about 10-15 good stirs.
Step 14: Do not overmix.
Step 15: Pour the batter into prepared pan and bake for 55 minutes to 1 hour.
Step 16: Loaf is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 17: Remove the loaf from the oven and cool on a wire rack.
Step 18: After about 30 minutes remove the loaf from the pan and allow to cool completely on the wire rack before cutting into 9 slices.
