Step 1: Saute chopped onion in butter.
Step 2: Do not brown.
Step 3: Turn heat to low.
Step 4: Add cornmeal to butter and mix well.
Step 5: Add the sugar, salt and warm milk.
Step 6: Stir slowly until the cornmeal begins to thicken.
Step 7: Remove from heat.
Step 8: Add the eggs and baking powder.
Step 9: Mix well.
Step 10: Pour into a greased 3-quart casserole.
Step 11: Bake at 325 degrees F. for 1 hour.
