Step 1: Assemble spices.
Step 2: Cook the bacon in stock pot over medium heat until crisp.
Step 3: Remove bacon from pan, crumble and set aside.
Step 4: Add bell pepper and onions to drippings in pan.
Step 5: Add carrots and garlic.
Step 6: Sauté 10 minutes or until browned.
Step 7: Add spices.
Step 8: Stir in the broth, scraping pan to loosen browned bits.
Step 9: Add beans.
Step 10: Bring to a boil.
Step 11: Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 1/2 hour or until beans are tender.
Step 12: Place 3 cups of the bean mixture in a blender
Step 13: And process until smooth.( Or use stick blender or potato masher)
Step 14: Return the pureéd mixture to pan.
Step 15: Stir in the bacon and parsley.
