Step 1: Melt margarine in a large saucepan and blend in flour.
Step 2: Gradually stir in milk.
Step 3: Cook, whisking constantly, until mixture boils and thickens.
Step 4: Add seasonings and cool slightly.
Step 5: Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
Step 6: In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff.
Step 7: Add yolks to slightly cooled milk mixture.
Step 8: Add cheese, stirring until cheese is melted.
Step 9: Fold in beaten egg whites.
Step 10: Turn into a greased 8 by 10 inch casserole dish.
Step 11: Set pan in hot water.
Step 12: Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven for about one hour or until golden brown.
