Step 1: Peel the potatoes, cut into quarters boil until tender
Step 2: About 5 minutes before the potatoes are fully cooked add the dried garlic to the saucepan, continue cooking until the potatoes are done
Step 3: When the potatoes are fully cooked drain well, roughly mash them. You do not want the potatoes totally smooth
Step 4: Add butter and a drop or two of milk if they are too dry
Step 5: Just before serving stir in the fried onions
