Step 1: Make the pie crust and roll out to cover a large cookie sheet making a 1" edge but don't stretch it out; just ease it in so it won't shrink.
Step 2: Prick holes all over the crust with a fork; bake at 400 degrees till golden and done; cool and then spread the jar of jam over the cooled crust.
Step 3: Mix the cake according to directions on box OR use the amounts above--don't use both; pour batter over the jam and bake at 350 degrees for time on box or till done when tested.
Step 4: FROSTING: Put everything into a mixing bowl starting with 2 cups sugar and adding more if needed; whip till light and fluffy and then frost your pan and enjoy.
