Ingredients
- 2 cups rye breadcrumbs
- 1 can (16 ounces) sauerkraut
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound pork sausage
- Topping:
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
How to Make

Step 1: PreHeat oven to 375 degrees F

Step 2: Pam spray a 9x13 casserole dish

Step 3: Combine the ketchup and brown sugar.

Step 4: Set aside.

Step 5: Cook the onion and garlic in the butter until soft.

Step 6: Put all the meatloaf ingredients into a large bowl. Mix together.

Step 7: Form the meat into a loaf in a casserole dish.

Step 8: Bake in a preheated 375-degree F oven for about 1 hour.

Step 9: After 40 minutes baste with the ketchup and brown sugar mixture.
