Step 1: Rinse the sauerkraut well, squeeze as dry as you can get it
Step 2: Fry your bacon until crisp, remove, set aside
Step 3: Drain off most of the bacon grease, add onions and carrots to the pan and saute for about 8 minutes
Step 4: Add remaining ingredients and the bacon, simmer until the wine has almost evaporated Serve and enjoy now or place in an oven proof casserole
Step 5: Pop a smoked sausage on top, cover bake in 350f oven for 30 minutes, uncover bake for a further 15 minutes
