Step 1: Heat oven to 350° Fahrenheit. Get out a 9x9-in baking dish. Spray or coat it with oil.
Step 2: Mix everything together in a large bowl except the last three ingredients.
Step 3: Pour into the baking dish. Add the 1/4 cup walnuts on top.
Step 4: Put into the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are brown and it's set in the middle.
Step 5: Pour some maple syrup over each piece. Add whipped topping if desired.
