Step 1: Get out a skillet and add the 2 tablespoons oil. Heat on medium high. Add the potatoes, frying for 5 minutes or until 1/3 of the way cooked.
Step 2: Next, add the water, soy sauce, corn syrup, sugar, and minced garlic. Cook 5 more minutes.
Step 3: Take a taste and add the sea salt if desired.
Step 4: Keep cooking, reducing the liquid to a paste (about 5 minutes).
Step 5: Reduce the heat to medium and fry 5 to 7 minutes more, or until the potatoes are cooked thru.
Step 6: Add the sesame seeds over the top of everything.
