Step 1: Melt chocolate squares in 6 tablespoons water over very low heat, stirring till smooth. A double boiler works best.
Step 2: Add sugar and salt.
Step 3: Cook and stir until smooth and slightly thickened.
Step 4: Stir in butter and vanilla.
Step 5: This makes 1 cup.
