Step 1: Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl (use a bowl large enough to hold the chicken and buttermilk or can use a large heavy resealable bag placed in a bowl to catch any leaks) . Pour the buttermilk over the chicken then sprinkle the garlic over; using cleans hands mix well to combine. Refrigerate for 4 or up to 24 hours hours.
Step 2: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Set oven rack to lowest position. Genorously grease a baking sheet with butter or cooking spray.
Step 3: In a large resealable plastic bag combine all the coating mix. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and place in a colander to drain for about 10 minutes (shaking the colander a few times while draining, the chicken should still have a little coating of buttermilk/garlic on it drain just enough so that the buttermilk will not make the coating mix too wet).
Step 4: Place 1 piece of chicken at a time into the bag and toss to coat in the mixture. Transfer to the baking pan and repeat with remaining chicken pieces.
Step 5: Drizzle the melted butter on top of the chicken (I have a spray that I use to spray the butter on over each piece). Bake for 40 minutes or until cooked through.
