Step 1: Place defrosted halibut in broiler pan without rack.
Step 2: Cream butter with onion, seasonings, herbs.
Step 3: Add lemon juice, drop by drop, mixing in each drop before adding the next.
Step 4: Spread half of the herb butter over the fish
Step 5: Broil in broiler 2 inches from heat source, 3 to 5 minutes.
Step 6: With turner, carefully turn fish and spread remaining herb butter over the other side.
Step 7: Return to broiler and broil 3 to 5 minutes longer or until fish flakes with a fork. Do not overcook (allow 3 minutes for fresh fish, 5 minutes for partly thawed frozen halibut).
Step 8: Spoon any remaining sauce over fish.
