Step 1: Break the cinnamon sticks open and crush the cloves and allspice a bit. Grate nutmeg if necessary.
Step 2: Pour the cider in the pot and add spices to the percolator basket using a coffee filter to reduce sediment in the pot. For stove top or slow cooker preparation, seal cinnamon and spices in a coffee filter. Remove spice package before serving.
Step 3: Perk the cider or simmer it long enough to infuse flavors.
Step 4: Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the microwave.
