Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2: Cream butter and sugar.
Step 3: Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well.
Step 4: Add flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well.
Step 5: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, to chill dough before rolling.
Step 6: Roll dough thickly. (about 1/4 inch). If you roll them too thin, they are hard to work with.
Step 7: Cut shapes, and put on an ungreased baking sheet.
Step 8: Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool on rack.
Step 9: Frost with your favorite frosting, icing, or glaze.
