Step 1: Heat oven to 325 degrees.
Step 2: Dump cranberry sauce into an ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan, and spread around the pan as well as you can.
Step 3: Dump Apple Pie filling into pan. Spread mixture evenly over cranberry sauce then "sift" dry cake mix on top.
Step 4: Cut up butter and dot top of cake.
Step 5: Sprinkle nuts or granola on top of cake.
Step 6: Bake 1 hour 15 minutes.
Step 7: Cool 10 minutes, then cut into squares.
Step 8: Serve with Cool Whip or ice cream.
