Step 1: Grease and lightly flour cookie sheet.
Step 2: In large bowl, beat egg whites till foamy; add sugar, flour, salt and almond; blend well.
Step 3: Stir in coconut and both cherries.
Step 4: Drop by scant tablespoonsfuls 2" apart on the cookie sheet and bake in a 325 degree oven for 13-17 minutes or till set and only lightly golden; remove immediately to a rack to cool.
