Step 1: Beat eggs until light and add the sifted sugar gradually. Blend these ingredients until very light.
Step 2: Sift the baking powder, salt, ground cloves, cinnamon, and allspice and resift with the flour, and then add the vanilla and beat until well blended.
Step 3: Add nuts and chopped fruit.
Step 4: Pour batter into greased and floured 9x13" pan.
Step 5: Bake at 325' about 25 minutes.
Step 6: When cool, cut into bars and roll in powdered sugar.
