Step 1: Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl. Use a pastry blender to cut in shortening until pieces are pea sized
Step 2: In a clean 1-quart glass canning jar, layer in order flour mixture, brown sugar, cherries, raisins, oats, pecans or walnuts, and coconut.
Step 3: Seal and attach instructions
Step 4: Baking directions: Preheat oven to 375. Empty contents of jar into mixing bowl and stir to combine. Mix in 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla and stir till well combined. Drop by rounded spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Transfer cookies to a wire rack and let cool
