Step 1: Combine dry frosting mix with corn syrup, peppermint extract, boiling water and a few drops coloring (if desired) in a mixer bowl.
Step 2: Beat on highest speed until stiff peaks form.
Step 3: Transfer to large mixer bowl and on low speed or by hand, gradually blend in icing sugar.
Step 4: Stir in crushed candies.
Step 5: Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
Step 6: When outside of candy feels firm, turn over. Dry at least 12 hours.
