Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup oats (quick cooking)
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup water
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- FOR TOPPING
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup flaked coconut
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- 3 tablespoons light cream
How to Make

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Grease and flour 13x19x2 baking pan

Step 3: Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well.

Step 4: Pour into prepared baking pan

Step 5: Bake 35 - 40 min, or until toothpick. inserted in center comes out clean.

Step 6: Combine all topping ingredients and spread over cake

Step 7: Set oven on broil or 550 and place cake bake in the oven, 3 inches from heat, for 2-3 min or until topping is golden brown
