Step 1: Place melted butter in a 10-inch pie plate; set aside.
Step 2: Combine flour, 1 cup sugar, and baking powder; stir well. Add milk, stirring until blended. Spoon the batter over the melted butter in the pie plate.
Step 3: Combine fruit and 1 cup sugar in a medium saucepan. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes; spoon over batter (do not stir). Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream.
