Step 1: Mix together the ground meat, crumbs, egg & 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
Step 2: Form into 4 half inch patties
Step 3: Pan fry in a large skillet over medium -high heat along with the pepper strips & onion slices (use two skillets if necessary). Apprx. 5 minutes each side (or internal temp reaches 160)
Step 4: While they are cooking brush the burgers & veggies with the remaining BBQ sauce.
Step 5: When ready the veggies should be slightly soft but still have some crunch.
Step 6: Place cheese on the burgers 1-2 minutes before they are done to allow it to melt
Step 7: Spread the toasted buns with mayo add a burger, lettuce, onion slice & pepper strip
