Step 1: Cook sauce until until rhubarb is tender (make sure there is enough juice, you may need to add more water).
Step 2: Meanwhile, combine flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, butter, vanilla and milk to make dumpling dough.
Step 3: Drop dough by the tablespoons on top of rhubarb.
Step 4: Cover tightly and simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 5: Sprinkle with topping serve with ice cream
