Step 1: Heat a large pot over medium heat with the olive oil.
Step 2: Add the chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes until softened, stirring.
Step 3: Next add in the garlic and stir, cooking for a minute more, then add in the salt, oregano and sugar. Stir and cook for another minute, then stir in the can of tomato paste.
Step 4: Carefully pour in the crushed tomatoes, sauce and chicken broth. Add pepper.
Step 5: Stir together and cook for around 20 minutes covered partially with a lid.
Step 6: After the soup has cooked, pour in the milk and blend with an immersion blender until smooth.
Step 7: Taste for seasonings and serve.
