Step 1: In a large bowl whisk together the oil and lemon juice; season with salt and pepper. Add the next 5 ingredients (-onion); toss.
Step 2: Using tongs, turn pitas over gas flame or in broiler to char slightly (15 seconds per side).
Step 3: Pull each pita open, spread with tapenade and fill with salad.
