Step 1: Place sugar and milk in heavy saucepan.
Step 2: Bring to a rolling boil.
Step 3: Reduce heat, and boil until small amount forms a soft ball in cold water.
Step 4: Remove from heat, and add butter (the size of a walnut), vanilla, persimmon pulp and nuts.
Step 5: Let cool to room temperature.
Step 6: Beat until mixture begins to thicken.
Step 7: Spread on cloth wrung out in cold water.
Step 8: Roll candy, remove cloth, and let cool.
Step 9: Slice to serve.
