Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: In a large bowl mix together the first 5 ingredients.
Step 3: In a small bowl mix the melted butter and the vanilla,then add to the oatmeal mixture.
Step 4: For the topping,take 1 cup of the mixture and set aside.
Step 5: Press remaining oatmeal mixture into an 8 inch square baking which has been prepared with cooking spray.
Step 6: Bake for 10 minutes,remove and cool for 5 minutes.
Step 7: Spread jam over the crust to 1/2 inch of the edges.
Step 8: Mix walnuts to reserved oatmeal mixture and crumble over jam.
Step 9: Bake for another 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
Step 10: Cool to room temperature and cut into 16 squares.
