Step 1: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Step 2: In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together, until smooth.
Step 3: Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Step 4: Stir in vanilla.
Step 5: Combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
Step 6: Stir into creamed mixture, just until blended.
Step 7: Mix in the oatmeal, walnuts, and chocolate chips.
Step 8: Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
Step 9: Bake for 12 minutes.
Step 10: Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, before transferring to a wire rack to completely cool.
