Step 1: Granita Mix ... Add all the ingredients to a glass 13x9 pan; and, mix well until the chocolate and sugar is melted, dissolved; and, combined. This will take a good 5 minutes - don't rush it. Just keep stirring.
Step 2: Freezing ... Freeze for at least 5 hours; it is best all day. IMPORTANT - Make sure to use a fork; and, scrape the dish/granita every hour. This creates the ice crystals; which make the granita. My freezer took about 6-7 hours; but, my freezer is also very full.
Step 3: Serving ... Before serving, scrape once again, breaking it up so it resembles a frozen ice, or a 'slushy.' I serve mine in a martini glass, with a little dollop of whipped topping and chocolate shavings. You can also drizzle a little chocolate sauce over the top.
Step 4: It's really delicious, full of flavor; but for a dessert - it is still pretty light. ENJOY!
