Step 1: In large skillet cook the bacon pieces until crisp; remove and set aside, leave the bacon fat in the skillet.
Step 2: Add in ground beef and onions; cook until beef is well browned, drain grease.
Step 3: Add the cooked bacon back to skillet along with the rice, cabbage, tomato sauce, 2 cups of chicken broth or water and diced tomatoes. Stir. Let it come to a boil and then reduce heat to medium low and cover to simmer for about 30-45 minutes or until rice is done and cabbage is soft. Do not lift lid before 20 minutes to make sure rice cooks well.
Step 4: Once cooked, Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese then shredded cheese; cover with lid to melt a few minutes.
