Step 1: In a saucepan heat oil, add onion and saute until soft. Add garlic and cook 1 minute. Add in remaining ingredients and simmer while you brown the ribs.
Step 2: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step 3: Season the ribs with salt and pepper; brown in hot oil. Transfer to a greased roasting pan. Pour the sauce over.
Step 4: Roast, covered 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until ribs are tender.
