Step 1: Note - if you do not have buttermilk or sour milk measure 2 tablespoons vinegar into a 2-cup measuring cup fill to the two-cup mark with sweet milk, let stand while you prepare other ingredients
Step 2: Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
Step 3: Combine buttermilk or sour milk and well beaten eggs, adding the milk and eggs to dry ingredients, beat until smooth with a hand mixer or electric mixer on high speed.
Step 4: Stir in melted margarine or salad oil.
Step 5: Bake in preheated waffle iron until crisp and golden.
Step 6: Serve with your favourite toppings.
