Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon mace
- 2 large eggs
- 4 tablespoons butter (cut into small pieces)
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (sharp cheddar preferred)
How to Make

Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F.

Step 2: Sift flour, baking powder, salt and mace together.

Step 3: Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add eggs and butter.

Step 4: Stir to mix slightly.

Step 5: Stir in milk and cheese. Do not overmix.

Step 6: Spoon into greased muffin tins and bake until pale golden, about 20 minutes.
