Step 1: Add onions to boiling salted water.
Step 2: Cook for 10 minutes, or until almost tender.
Step 3: Drain.
Step 4: Slowly melt butter along with brown sugar in a large heavy frying pan.
Step 5: Cook over low heat, stirring to mix.
Step 6: Add onions.
Step 7: Cook until onions are tender and almost all the syrup clings to them, about 15 minutes.
Step 8: Sprinkle in rosemary.
