Step 1: Cook turnips until just barely tender-not soft but a little firm. Drain.
Step 2: Melt butter and mix in flour.
Step 3: Add 1/2 and 1/2 cream add shredded cheese. until sauce turns yellow , it works best just cutting small chunks off and stirring so it melts.
Step 4: Mix into turnips.
Step 5: Top with chives.
